Role Overview
As a Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with a range of care needs, helping them live safely, confidently and as independently as possible. Your work may take place in:
- Supported living services
- Residential care homes
- Learning disability support settings
- Elderly care / dementia services
- Community-based environments
- Mental health support services
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support based on individual needs
- Assist with daily living tasks (washing, dressing, meal prep, routines)
- Promote independence and positive decision-making
- Support with mobility and general wellbeing
- Engage individuals in meaningful activities and social interaction
- Maintain accurate care notes and documentation
- Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures and health & safety guidelines
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals
- Support with emotional wellbeing and compassionate communication
- Assist with medication prompting (if required and permitted)
Key Skills & Experience
- We are looking for Care Support Workers with:
- Compassion, patience and a people-first mindset
- Previous experience in care, support work or similar roles
- Understanding of personal care and daily living support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Good awareness of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Reliability and a commitment to delivering quality care
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
